K-Pop MV of the Week - Updates Mondays

February 6-February 12
Sweet Sorrow - First Date

Here's a nice change of pace for the week. Instead of the intensity of last week, this week I'm introducing a quartet that was introduced to me by my best friend. I've only seen this one of theirs, but it is cute and sweet, and will life your spirits. You can't feel unhappy after watching this, except maybe about the fact that the song ends. The four men all have great voices, and there isn't a lot of music, so their voices shine. They're a little older-looking than the usual groups I listen too, but they are amazing in their own way.

January 30-February 5
B.A.P. - Warrior

Sorry I'm a day late, everyone, I was too tired to think yesterday and I'm really swamped with homework, so I haven't been able to keep anything but homework on my mind. This week is an earbuster. This group debut this last weekend with this MV, and it doesn't have a trace of 'rookie' anywhere on it. Two of the singers have already debuts with their own MVs, which just adds to the awesomeness of the group. The powerful rapping, including baby Zelo's (the curly blond who look like he's thirteen. He's fifteen) rapping at the speed of light, combined with the awesome stomp dancing, and a really edgy look makes for an awesome hip hop/rap group. I really like Korean rap.

January 23-January 29
SHINee - Hello

To take a break from all the sadness and epicness, here is a fun, cute music video featuring the adorable boys of SHINee (pronounced shiny). Just watching this video gives me the giggles. The song is fun to sing along too, especially the chorus, which is easy to follow, and there is just a general happy feeling to it. I dare you to watch without smiling.

January 16-January 22
Xing - Study Abroad

After the last couple of videos, I figured it was about time for a little bit calmer one. This particular video has been in my favorites for a long time now, and and while I don't follow this group any more, they were really good during this time period. I don't have to explain what the song is about, because it's subtitled, but I will say that I really enjoy listening to it. The video's not the best quality, but the voices are what really counts. Just listening to it again gives me the chills. And my most favorite singer is in this band. If you recognize two of the singers, kudos to you. Yes, Kevin from U-Kiss and Junhyung from Beast were originally in this group.

January 9-January 15
MBLAQ - It's War

This Monday MBLAQ, on of my favorite bands that keeps getting better, unleased their new music video and released their new album. It was an amazing combination of powerful vocals, an awesome chorus, perfectly coordinated dancing, and a music video that leaves one wanting more. In fact, this music video was so amazing, it deserves it's own post.

January 2-January 8
4Minute - Huh

This is just about the only girl group that I can stand to listen to. Most girl groups get on my nerves, not because they aren't good or anything like that, but just because I don't really like listening to girls sing. Probably because I am one, and I would rather have a man crooning to me, but you know, that's just me. Anyway, 4Minute is a really good, popular group that is part of Cube entertainment, the same entertainment company that B2ST is a part of (the guys in white in the beginning. This song is really fun to dance to (always what I'm looking for) and the music video is fun to watch. Although the overly sexualized dancing is really annoying and this particular group has my least favorite female singer in it. I still like the song, and usually don't skip this group when my i-pop is on shuffle.

December 26-January 1
MBLAQ - White Forever

The last Christmas video for this season. Only this one is more of a love song during the Christmas season. It's very cute and fluffy, with video recordings from concerts and recordings. It's got a happy feel to it, and ends with the very adorable "Merry Christmas" from all of MBLAQ. Definitely a highlight video.

December 19-December 25
Super Junior - Santa you are the one

Continuing with the Christmas theme, here is SM Entertainment's SMTown music video for this Christmas. It is sung by Super Junior, including the two that are only in Super Junior M, but has video and pictures of all of SME's singers. It is very festive, and cheerful, and full of Christmas cheer!

December 12-December 18
Infinite - Lately

So, after a sad ballad and an epic dance video, I figured it was time to start the Christmas Cheer rolling. And you can't get much more cheerful than Infinite. The video is so cute I could barely pay attention to the song, though it to is a pile of cuteness too much to be expressed in words. While the members are all fairly young, there is a sense of joy that can be felt, even through the language barrier (which is becoming thinner for me every day. ^-^) And the feelings the seven singers obviously feel as they run around looking for Christmas gifts is one I will always treasure: the happiness of looking for a gift for someone special, and the joy of finding the PERFECT gift for them, whether it be big or small, or like the youngest decided to do, just yourself being there (he was the one with the ribbon around his neck at the end).
(Blah, that one kind of rambled... sorry)

December 5-December 11
N.Sonic - Super Boy

This music video (that I have been listening too and watching almost no stop for the last day or so) is a great example of a rookie debut. With a catchy beat and easy to follow lyrics, as well as a dark, almost dystopian set, the music video is something I'm always looking for more of. The group, N.Sonic, features some fabulous voices and cute faces. Not to mention amazing, well rounded talent. I took the time today to purchase their mini album on itunes (less than $4) and along with this song, they had two great ballad songs and an intro song that has a fun beat to it as well.

November 28-December 4
Tablo ft. Taeyang - No Tomorrow

A nice, calm sad song by Tablo from Epik High, featuring Taeyang from Big Bang. Set against a unique background of wide open desert. Taeyang's beautiful vocals and Tablo's smooth rapping come together to create a beautiful ballad. On top of the vocals, the washed out feeling to the video really lends the feeling that there really isn't a tomorrow for this brokenhearted man.
