Dear Readers - Please accept my apology

I apologize for not posting in a long time. I can assure you that a string of circumstances have allowed me much more time and I intend to post at the very least every other day, depending on if anything actually happens.

Even though I figure most of you readers already know what has happened since my last post, I shall do a quick recap for you

I lost my job: The company I worked for wasn't doing well enough to keep the office I was at open, and they had to close it and lay everyone off.

I moved to a cheaper apartment: BYU housing to be exact. I now have 3 roommates instead of 1, but I already like the three better than the 1, and love my new ward.

I lost my car: Someone rear-ended me pretty badly, and totaled the car (That's the simplified version). I was told by my dad that if they don't think it's worth it to repair the car, the other person's insurance will offer $xxxx for the car.

Good thing I moved closer to everything...

In the meanwhile my dad got me a rental car until everythings resolved, but after that I'll probably only have a bus pass, and will eventually lose the weight I gained at my sit-down job.

And I might be able to afford on semester at UVU with the money I'll get for the car. IF I buckle down and apply, and take the ACT, etc, etc.

On the bright side (in my opinion) I have seen Wolverine twice (Opening Midnight showing with Balgram and friends, and again with my friend Cheez), Star Trek 3 times (Better each time), and Terminator Salvation once. (Though that might change by Sunday)

It is quite possible I will be able to survive the entire summer without a job. We'll see how that goes though... I might just get so bored out of my mind that I apply for whatever I can get...

At least for now I have enough time on my hands to write like crazy. (Too bad I haven't started that yet...)

It is my goal to finish rewriting Huntress before June 20th. Then I can do some last minute polishing before the end of July, and have it off to some publishers by the end of August. Again, we'll see how that works. I will finish by the 20th though.

I'm even going to dedicate a Write-In with Balgram's brother, Cavdawg, to getting past the part I'm stuck. I'll let you know how that goes...

Race, etc.

So I went and saw Race to Witch Mountain this evening.

Can I just say I was blown away?

I loved it. It had great music, a great cast of excellent actors, pretty amazing special effects, and an awesome, almost continuous chase from start to finish. I really felt for the characters, and wished the movie would never end.

It didn't get very good reviews from the critics, but is currently claiming a top box office spot. And it even beat a rated "R" movie at one point!

Score one for the kids movie!

There's no foul language what so ever, no innuendos, and over all is a wonderfully clean film.

The story, while is a remake on an old '70s show, was very well re-thought, and while the kids talking got just the tiny bit annoying after a while, it was completely bearable.

This is definitely a movie I will be buying (when I have money), and something I would love for my future kids to watch.


I have finished rewriting the first chapter of Huntress, and have started working on the second, though watching Witch Mountain has turned my attention temporarily to the fourth book (not going to tell you what that one's about, as it's a secret.)

And I took this afternoon to clean out my apartment's fridge, and MAN did it stink. But now it's all clean and only has my food in it. (Turns out my roommate doesn't eat anything at the apartment. I wonder where she does eat?)

Okay, Here's whats going on.

First things first. Technically I don't have internet, but I'm 'borrowing' from one of my neighbors.

So what's happened to me so far is this. I've started working on rewriting my book again, and have had a lot of great ideas about it. The actual paperback copy is in the hands of my good friend Angela from work, then it's go to Sarah, then to Camille, the to who ever claims it next. So claim now!

I love living in my new apartment, it's always so quiet, except for whatever I'm listening to or watching, and it's so refreshing. I can seriously leave for work 15 minutes before work starts, instead of the 45 minutes I used to do. So far I haven't eaten any tv or microwavable dinners, which is really impressive for me. I am running out of recipes, but my mom's making me a book so I probably won't have too much of a problem.

My roommate has been in Texas since last Wednesday, and will probably return this weekend or sometime early next week. It's really nice having the apartment to myself, but I have found that while she's gone I'm up watching tv until at least 1, then read until after 2, and don't get up the next morning until at least noon. Not good for me. I'm trying to be better. Tonight I didn't even turn the tv on when I got home from work, but we'll see.

On actually rewriting my novel, I've learned a lot about my characters, what works and what doesn't, and am about halfway through the first chapter. It's actually exciting to see everything coming together better than how they were the first time around, and I really do see my book on the shelves of a bookstore or library someday. It's turning out to be a trilogy with a possible stand alone fourth book, which is exciting, and really unexpected. I was only ever planning on one book, but halfway through writing it a character who I wasn't expecting showed up and changed things in the first book, then revealed that he was something I had never expected and demanded a second book. And just the fact that he wanted a second book made the rest of the characters demand that I follow up with a third book to solve the overall conflict they all face.

So, I guess I'm stuck with three books.

My plan is to write the second one this coming November for NaNoWriMo, which I am proud to say I have got three people to think about doing with me from work. My really good friend Angela, my sort of manager Brian, and another friend, Sarah. It's always amazing to me how many creative people I'm friends with.

Speaking of creative people, I learned that not everyone has the same kind of vivid and exciting dreams I do. I know my friend Balgram does, as well as Cheez, so I had thought that everyone is the same.

Somehow dreams came up in the conversation with my friend Angela, and she asked me if I had vivid dreams. I told her I did, and she was very relieved, saying that she was glad that she wasn't the only one. I asked her about that, and she said that when ever she talked with her roommates about it, they always thought she was weird for having vivid dreams.

So it's my guess that vivid dreams are solely the 'gift' to creative people like me and my friends.

That was and interesting something to know.

My mind has gone a little blank as to what else to tell you, so I shall bid you all goodnight and promise to post again soon. (At least before the month is up.)

Okay, So I should have told you before, but I don't have internet access in my new apartment yet, so I haven't been able to check or post anything. But I have a very long list of things I want to tell the world, so I'll post it sometime this week when I go to the library.

Well...

How embarrassing. I haven't posted in such a long time. I'm really sorry about that, but I've sort of been busy with other things... Dang you Hulu....

Any-who, I have some great news for my dear readers.

I'M MOVING OUT! It took me all of a week to find, see, and get an apartment twice as close to my job as I am now! I've already started moving stuff down there and the big moving day is planned for Saturday.

*SQUEAL, SCREAM, SHRIEK!* That's what I did when I found out that I got the apartment.

Allow me to describe the place.

The door opens and the only way you can go is right, into the living room. There is a very large wide screen TV, which belongs to the girl who has the other room in this condo, a coffee table and rocking chair that belong to the owner, and a large brown, really comfortable couch, which also belongs to the other girl. The floor is covered in brand new tile (real tile, not linoleum), and there is sliding glass doors onto the deck (it's on the second floor of a fourplex).

Next you have the dining room, which is a continuation of the living room and has a really pretty wood breakfast nook that belongs to the owner, as well as a large window onto the deck.

The kitchen is really small, but the sink, stove, and fridge form a triangle, which if I remember correctly from my interior design class, is very good.

There is a hall between the kitchen and the front door that leads to the bedrooms and bathroom. My bedroom is the door on the left at the end of the hall, right next to the bathroom which is to the left of my room.

And my room is quite large with a bright window and a HUGE closet that takes up one ENTIRE WALL! WITH TONS OF SHELF SPACE! The funny thing about this is the first thing I thought of when I saw all that shelf space was BOOK SPACE! and the first thing the girls at work thought was CLOTHES SPACE! Shows you how different I am from a normal girl.

The bathroom is pretty average sized, but is has a JETTED tub that comes up to my knees! It is huge!

All the walls have a fresh coat of paint that is pale creamy yellow, and the bedrooms have a dark brown carpet that is really thick and cushy.

I met the other girl tonight. She's in the National Guard, so she's not at the apartment very often, but she's really nice. When I went to pick up my keys tonight she welcomed me and gave me a hug.... (NOT what I pictured from a woman in the NG.) But she's seems really cool, and I get along with anyone, so there shouldn't be a problem.

The best part about this condo/apartment is that it's only $400 a month including utilities. And with the other girl gone most of the time, it's like I have my very own, one room apartment for HALF of what a normal one room apartment goes for.

YEAH!

Car Trouble

Sorry I haven't posted since November. I would tell you why, but I don't really know.

The reason I'm posting now is I had some car trouble.

Tuesday after work, I went to start my car and it wouldn't. Everytime I turned the key it sounded like metal blades were grinding my engine. I called my dad, and thankfully he was close by at a basketball game. He and my mom came and he tried to get it working. We tried jumpstarting it, we tried moving the car out of the parking spot, and finally we just pushed my poor car into the opposite parking spot and went home.

Wednesday dad called the car place he had taken it to the last time it broke and they said they would work on it. So when I rode the bus to work, I waited by my car until the tow truck came, then went to work.

I got to tell you, it's not a good feeling when you see your car being carried away. As it passed work I said goodbye to it, softly. My boss heard me, which wasn't a big surprise, and he asked who's car it was. He looked really worried when I told him it was mine. (He does everything he can, and has done everything, to keep the employee's cars from being towed. Long story)

Then I told him that it hadn't started before, and he relaxed a little, but still looked worried/sorry for me. (I gotta tell you, I love my boss.)

This morning, around 10, I woke up to my phone ringing. It was dad, who was coming back from a work appointment. He said that he had talked to the repair guy and that the car was fixed.

WHOOOOT!

He said that the part had a LIFETIME WARRENTY, unlike what he thought, and I only have to pay for the labor. I didn't even have to pay for the towing! And my car is fixed! I thought it would take a couple days, but apparently the guy worked into the night to get it fixed...

If I could, I would marry this guy.

So that's my story.

In other news, I found this new freeware program online that I love and have started using a lot. It's called Q10 and is a full screen editor. Since getting it on Sunday, I have written close to 5,000 words and 4 chapters on ONE STORY. Which doesn't happen! And it doesn't feel like I'm going to stop.

Usually when I switch stories I first have a new idea, and when I try to put it off I get a mind full of ideas for that idea. And I haven't for this one. I'm really happy!

True, I had to go through two other stories to get to this one, but this one, like most of my good story ideas, has been, sitting in the back of my mind for a while, and after watching some good TV shows that are related, it came to the front of my mind and demanded to be written.

It's a story about a 25 year old woman who hunts the undead and other things like that. And she has a cool backstory that makes me cry each time I read it, has two nephews who she has to take care of now that her sister is dead, and has a werewolf that is accidentally bound to her, unable to be more then 30 feet away from her.

The character, being a hunter of the undead, may sound like Buffy, but she's not. Not only is she way better, but she's also cooler, and cleaner, which is the most important in my mind.

And I have so many things waiting to be written for this story. I want to make it at least a trilogy, but depending on how long I make the story arch, it might end up longer.

The only plot I have right now is what's buzzing in my head for book one, and a few bits and pieces that I can't wait to write in the next books.

And I think it's going to be great!

I was not really expecting this kind of elation I am feeling right now....

Anyway, next is the editing process, and that will take forever... Especially since it is 83 pages long... Shoot... Well...
Hopefully when I get the published paperback copy from Createspace, then I will let everyone read the crappy copy, then when I get it published, you will all get to say that you read the first version...

Just in case you didn't know, I was screaming to myself for about 5 minutes... Thank heavens my family was gone... They would have thought I was insane...
